This page explains what we collect when you sign up for MaybeWaybe early access on maybewaybe.com, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. In short: we use your details only to manage your early access and the launch of MaybeWaybe in Vienna.
Who we are
MaybeWaybe (“we”, “us”) is the team building the MaybeWaybe app. For anything about your data, email us at hello@maybewaybe.com.
What we collect
When you submit the “Get early access” form, we store:
- Your email address (required), so we can reach you about your early access.
- Your age range, if you choose one. This is optional.
- Your preferred activities, if you select any (for example coffee, drinks or music).
- Invite information: the personal invite code we create for you, and, if you arrived through a friend’s invite link, that friend’s invite code.
- Your country, as a two-letter code worked out from your internet connection (for example “AT”). We don’t record your exact location.
- The time you signed up, plus a technical note of when our team was notified about your sign-up.
To deliver the website and protect the form from spam and abuse, our hosting provider also processes technical connection data such as your IP address. We use your IP address only to limit repeated attempts. We don’t save it with your sign-up.
Why we use it
- To register and manage your early-access request.
- To contact you about your early access and the MaybeWaybe launch in Vienna.
- To run invite links, so we know which friend invited you.
- To understand, in general terms, which age groups and activities people are interested in, so we can plan the Vienna launch.
- To keep the form safe from spam and misuse.
We don’t sell your details, and we don’t use them for unrelated marketing campaigns. Under the GDPR, we process your details to handle the early-access request you make (Art. 6(1)(b)), and to protect our service from abuse, which is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Where your details go
We use a small number of service providers to run the sign-up:
- Cloudflare hosts this website and processes the form when you press the button.
- Supabase hosts the database where your sign-up is stored.
- Google Workspace hosts our team inbox (hello@maybewaybe.com), which receives a notification email with your sign-up details.
Only the MaybeWaybe team can see your sign-up. The mobile app can’t read these records, and they aren’t linked to any app account.
How long we keep it
We keep your sign-up only as long as we need it for early access and the Vienna launch. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the details we hold about you, or object to how we use them. Just email hello@maybewaybe.com from the address you signed up with. If you think we’ve mishandled your data, you can also complain to a data protection authority. In Austria, that’s the Datenschutzbehörde (dsb.gv.at).
Invites
If you share your invite link and a friend signs up with it, we note that they were invited with your code. We don’t collect anything about friends who haven’t signed up themselves.
Cookies
This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Its fonts and images load from maybewaybe.com itself.
Changes
If we change how we handle your details, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
